OMBUDSMAN ENGAGES THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SLRSA AND MANAGEMENT TEAM

In continuation of his sensitization drive to MDAs the Ombudsman Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah Esq. paid courtesy visit to the Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority, Rev. Smart K. Senesie and his Management at their Kissy Road offices.

Addressing the Team, the Ombudsman stated that the visit is to inform them about the mandate and functions of the Ombudsman’s Office. He noted that the office receives complaints from the staff of government Institutions as well as members of the public on matters that affect them reigning from injustice and maladministration and other forms of administrative actions which can be considered as injustice. He further stated that his mandate aligns with Pillar 5 of the Mid-Term National Development Plan of the Government of Sierra Leone. He revealed that high-handedness, harshness and bias are some of the actions that the Ombudsman’s Act refers to as Injustice.

Thanking the Ombudsman and Team, the Executive Secretary noted that the task ahead of the Ombudsman’s office is huge and notes that with the information gathered from the Team, they have increased their knowledge about the role of the Ombudsman in the fight against administrative injustices. He further stated that they give due diligence when they are carrying out their duties so as to protect the image of the SLRSA. He further pledge his Institution’s support to the work of the Office of the Ombudsman.
