On Thursday 16th November, 2017, the  Ombudsman, Melron Nicol-Wilson, explained his mandate to public officials and members of the   general public in Pujehun town.

The meeting was held at the Pujehun District Council Hall and was chaired by the Chairman of the Pujehun District Council, Sadiq Sillah. Participants included: Paramount Chiefs from various chiefdoms in Pujehun district, staff of the Pujehun District Council, heads of the various government agencies, representatives of civil society organisations and complainants.

 At the end of the discussions, the participants asked the Ombudsman several questions. Officials of the    Office of the Ombudsman received complaints from people in Pujehun town and promised to look into them within the shortest possible time.

From the Mayor's office, the Ombudsman went to the Kenema Government Hospital at 3:45pm, where he discussed his mandate with the District Medical Officer, Dr. Vandy, and the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Masuba.

At 2:15pm the Ombudsman also visited the 2nd Infantry Battalion of RSLAF, based at RTI in Kenema, and held discussions with the Officers and Men deployed there.

In the evening, from 7 pm to 8 pm, the Ombudsman and team held a live simulcast radio discussion       programme on SLBC 93.5 F.M and Gola Agriculture Radio 100.3 FM, to sensitise the general public in Kenema about the functions of the Office of the Ombudsman and other related matters.
