OMBUDSMAN PAYS COURTESY CALL ON THE DIRECTOR GENERAL AND MANAGEMENT STAFF OF PARLIAMENT

In a bid to sensitize and build cordial working relations, the Ombudsman Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah Esq paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of Parliament Mrs. Finda Fraser and her Management Team at their Offices at Parliament.

He stated that he was undertaking the venture to build partnerships with MDAs and continue to raise awareness about the Office of the Ombudsman. He noted that staff of his office usually face reprisals from Heads of Public Institutions as they sometimes see the Office as intruders into their administrative actions.

He noted that some of these administrative injustices clog up effective service delivery. He furthered that his Institution also serves as a good governance, Rights based and accountability Institution which uses Alternative Redress Mechanisms to resolve disputes. He maintained that the services offered in the Office of the Ombudsman are free of charge.

Thanking the Ombudsman and Team, the Director General Mrs. Finda Fraser said that they have understood the mandate and functions of the Ombudsman's Office and noted that the Office needs to do more sensitization on their work. She further commented that her office is looking forward to building a cordial working relationship with the Ombudsman Office. Staff of her Office made several contributions during the interaction.
