OMBUDSMAN PAYS COURTESY CALL ON THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL FERTILIZER REGULATORY AGENCY AND MANAGEMENT

The Ombudsman of the Republic of Sierra Leone Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah Esq. paid a courtesy visit to the National Fertilizer Regulatory Agency at their Office at Wilkinson Road.
Welcoming the Ombudsman and Team, the Executive Director, Dr. Andrew BaMusa Koroma, stated that the agency is the hub for all fertilizers in Sierra Leone. He stated that they are working in collaboration with the private sector to ensure that there are quality fertilizers in the market. He further stated that they also ensure that the fertilizers are distributed across the country and that they are trying to develop a fertilizer Registry to ensure that all fertilizers whether local or imported are compliant with national policies.

Making his presentation, the Ombudsman noted that his Office complement other Institutions in ensuring that administrative justice forms an integral part of the public and civil service. He revealed that his office was created by the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone Act No. 6 and the Ombudsman Act No. 2 of 1997 with the mandate to investigate issues of injustice’s and Maladministration within prescribed authorities.
He stated that the visit is also part of a sensitization and cordial working relationship building as he want every Civil and/or Public Servant to be aware of the existence of his office. He called on the Management and staff of NaFRA to support the work of his Office so that the people of Sierra Leone will be properly served.
