In continuation of the sensitisation drive and intake clinics, the ombudsman Leon Jenkins-Johnston and team have completed it's second day activities in Magburaka in the North and Bonthe in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone.

OMB CHIEF

In Magburaka, the team met with the Magburaka Police Division, Magburaka Correctional Services, Paramount Chief Alhaji Maskma Kamarakah III, the Medical Superintendent and team, and the Deputy Director Teaching Service Commission and team of Tonkolili district.

During the sensitisation drive to the various stakeholders, the Ombudsman, Leon Jenkins-Johnston dilated on the Mandate and Functions of the Office of the Ombudsman. He noted that the office is charged with the responsibility of receiving and resolving complaints. A team of investigators were stationed at the District office where they were receiving complaints from the public.

In Mattru Jong, Bonthe District, the team lead by the Director of Complaints, Mediation and Investigations paid a courtesy call on the Chairman, Bonthe District Council, Chiefdom Speaker, the Local Unit Commander Bonthe, the Sierra Leone Correctional Services, Mattru Jong, the Deputy Secretary of Education Bonthe together with principals and head of educational institutions and the District Medical Officer and Team. The team in Mattru Jong received and recorded about 20 Complaints.
